Atdorf Pumped Storage Plant, Germany
The Schluchseewerk AG has commissioned LI with the draft and final design for planning permission for the Atdorf pumped storage plant. The plant will have an installed capacity of approx. 1400 MW and be equipped with synchronous or asynchronous generating units.
The upper reservoir is in the form of a ring dam, while the lower reservoir is created by a dam on one of the Rhine’s tributaries. The underground powerhouse will operate with a head of some 620 m.
