Wind measurement campaign and wind farm planning (Micro-Siting) in Southern Italy
Trelettra and Primeolica have initiated an extensive wind measurement campaign in several regions of Southern Italy to implement a significant market share of the new and fast developing wind energy market in Italy.
A total of more than 3,000 MW dispersed on wind farms with capacities between a few MW up to 50 MW is actually under development in different phases in Campania, Puglia, Calabria, Sardinia and Sicily. 186 MW are in an advanced phase and will be installed next year. For another 1,300 MW permissions have been applied. The development of the remaining wind farm sites is expected to start next year.
